Best of Baltimore 2025: Rugs

In August 2025, in the 50th anniversary edition of its Best of Baltimore issue, Baltimore magazine named Senneh Knot the city’s best for rugs.

The magazine wrote of Zubair Mohamed opening the business nearly 40 years ago, of the staff’s passion, and of a Timonium showroom of thousands of rugs, mostly from Pakistan, India and Nepal as well as Turkey.

“Senneh Knot takes floor-covering very seriously.”

2015

Best of Baltimore 2015: Hand-Woven Rugs

Ten years earlier, the August 2015 Best of Baltimore issue gave Senneh Knot the award for hand-woven rugs.

It praised an enormous selection in virtually any style, a staff who teach the craft of rug-weaving rather than pressure a sale, custom rugs of any kind, and the cleaning and repair.

“Since the company buys directly from overseas weavers, they’re surprisingly reasonable.”
